Initiatives of Goa CSR Authority
Colorcon Asia Pvt Ltd, Verna Goa contributed an amount of Rs. 1.00 crore towards the implementation of "Vision for All" Programme. The amount was utilised for eye checkups of 2.37 lakh school children, across the State. Ophthalmic surgeries, besides distribution of spectacles to the needy students were done free of cost. This initiative was one of its kind, perhaps the first time in the country. Under this programme, 253 patients undergone free eye Surgery, and 1608 nos. of spectacles were distributed free of cost.
Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, under its Corporate Social Responsibility, has provided financial assistance for a project viz. “Supply of Medical Equipment/Instrument for Automation in Blood Bank, Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulances (2 nos.), Basic Life Support (BLS) Ambulance (6 nos.) for Hospitals in Goa State amounting to Rs. 275.00 lakh.
The Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO Ltd) have contributed Rs.249.00 lakh for purchase of. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ALS) Ambulances (4 nos.) to provide emergency care for the victims of road accidents in Goa under its CSR initiative.
Dvija Naturals Pvt Ltd., a Goa based startup MSME engaged in the production of ayurvedic medicines has offered its product Dvija Heal+ at 50% discount on MRP for healthcare activities. Canara Bank, Panaji Goa have contributed Rs. 82,500/- towards distribution of 500 medical kits among school students.
Power Finance Corporation has provided financial assistance to the tune of Rs. 399.00 lakh for procurement of Medical equipment at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim under its CSR activity.
Molbio Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd, under its Corporate Social Responsibility, has provided Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulances (4 nos.) equipped with necessary medical equipment, Hearse Vans (2 nos.) and Opthalmic equipment amounting to Rs. 340.00 lakh to enhance healthcare infrastructure and services across the State.
The "Bright Smiles, Bright Futures" (BSBF) Colgate Program made remarkable strides in Goa, successfully engaging schools, students, and educators in a mission to promote oral health awareness and practices.
During the implementation of the project, activities such as Interactive sessions emphasizing brushing techniques, nutrition & preventive care, teacher’s training to equip educators with the tools to advocate for oral health, educational activities to make learning about oral hygiene enjoyable and memorable were taken up. Dental kits were provided to students to reinforce daily oral hygiene practices at home.
The BSBF Colgate Program set a benchmark for health education initiatives. By reaching over 180,000 students and involving 907 schools, the program has created a health-conscious generation equipped with the knowledge and tools to maintain oral hygiene.
The Goa CSR Authority has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EduHub Sports Private Limited represented by former cricketer and founder-director of International Institute of Sports and Management (IISM), Nilesh Kulkarni to promote children and youth fitness across schools and colleges, promote physical literacy, derive appropriate long term athlete development initiatives and create grass root level impact on physical and fitness assessments.
Eduhub Sports Pvt. Ltd. shall conduct comprehensive fitness assessments, provide accurate measurements, analyse data, and generate reports to evaluate and monitor the fitness levels of students under the brand name “FitnessGramâ€. Goa is perhaps the first State in India for to assess the fitness levels of students.
Eduhub Sports Pvt. Ltd. has assessed the fitness levels of 339 students. The programme was funded by Canara Bank under its CSR initiative.
The Goa CSR Authority has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TENVIC Sports Education Pvt. Ltd, founded and led by International Icon Shri. Anil Kumble. The course of implementation includes 3 years of providing uniform and consistent sports training across a wide spectrum through its comprehensive grassroots level training programme “Integrated Sports Programme†for school children in various sports for a consideration of “Sports Education Feesâ€.
The Government of Goa with vision to clean rivers in the State on the lines of National Mission for Clean Ganga came up with initiative to implement AlphaMERS river clean up technology in the State of Goa to prevent movement of plastics into the sea. The project will benefit State to minimize the plastics on the coast and beaches, progress towards SDG goals and improve the tourism brand value of the State.
ATHER Energy Pvt. Ltd. has partnered with the Government of Goa to setup 10 (ten) EV Charging Stations to cater to Electric Two Wheelers (E2Ws), Electric Three Wheelers (E3Ws) and Electric Four Wheelers (E4Ws) across the State.
Foundation for Science Innovation and Development, (FSID), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru has partnered with Government of Goa to take up various activities to enable the industry to develop its capability in entrepreneurial (through startups and incubate companies), translational and transformational research, technology and product development utilizing the specialized skills, expertise, intellectual and infrastructural assets of IISc.
Prof Amaresh Chakrabarti, Chairman, Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing (CPDM) IISc, Bengaluru, delivered the Flagship Program on “Design Thinking†for all the Officers of the State Government. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Pramod Sawant, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of Goa.
Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), a not-for-profit Institute based in Gujarat has partnered with Goa Governmnet with the purpose of supporting the State of Goa in building one of the most entrepreneurship- friendly destinations in India by promoting entrepreneurship education, training, policy research and incubation support across the State. The Goa Regional Centre of Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India was inaugurated by Dr. Pramod Sawant, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa.
The establishment of the Centre marked the commencement of the ‘Goa Udyamita Yojana’, with EDII serving as the implementation agency, and the Goa CSR Authority and EDC Limited, Goa, as the nodal agencies. The scheme is designed to fortify Goa’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by leveraging human capital and local resources, thereby stimulating the establishment of new enterprises and fostering the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
A Memorandum of Understanding has been entered into with The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) to support the State in the areas of Stress Management, Teachers Education, Life Skills as per National Education Policy 2020 (NEP-2020).
Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Ministry of Education, Government of India has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Goa CSR Authority with the purpose of promoting all Indian languages including Konkani prevalent in the State through production and improvement of academic resources and carry out collaborative research and accomplish specific assignments related to Konkani and other languages in Goa.
Kotak Education Foundation (KEF), public charitable trust has partnered with Goa CSR Authority for capacity building of school leaders and teachers through instructional and leadership practices that integrate key elements of the NEP - 2020.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with TT Skill Development Pvt Ltd with an aim to develop and implement skill development initiatives in the domains of Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Corporate Training, Cold Chain Management for the Pharma Industry, and Travel and Tourism Sector in Goa.
Goa CSR Authority shall partner with Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) to deliver joint training programmes to government clients and private sector. The programmes may be conducted either in ASCI, Hyderabad or in off-campus mode in Goa.

As an aid in modern language teaching Government in association of Thaliyola Infotech Pvt from Delhi Setup Language Labs at Government College, Sanquelim and Government College, Margao.
The State Bank of India, as contribution towards CSR in the State distributed 10 (nos) sewing machines. This initiative will enable women to start business and help to generate sustainable income by sewing clothes, bags, handicraft for themselves or for larger business enterprises.
SBI Foundation, under its CSR initiative has partnered with Goa CSR Authority to implement the project ‘SBIF LEAP: Innovation and Training Centre’, to set up and operationalise a Training centre and conference hall for imparting skill training and entrepreneurship development programme for women and youth from the State of Goa.

The initiative would help the girl students to commute to school in an energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable manner and reduce drop-out rates among girl students, in rural areas. This initiative underscores the commitment of creating a more inclusive and equitable society, where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
On 14th December, 2023, the Goa CSR Authority organised a unique CSR initiative i.e. Goa CSR Conclave, under the Chairmanship of Dr. Pramod Sawant, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Government of Goa, which was witnessed and participated by more than 100 Corporate Houses, PSUs, Government Institutions and Private Sectors. The Conclave started producing acceptance and contribution from the Corporates and Government Institutions for the Noble Cause in the areas of Education, Skill, Entrepreneurship, Environment, Health, and Energy within a month from the date the conclave being held.
The 11th Corporate Social Responsibility Summit and CSR Times Awards 2024 were held in Goa. The summit was organised by CSR TIMES-a periodical on corporate social responsibility, in association with the Goa CSR Authority at Raj Bhavan on 23rd August 2024.
The day-long event was attended by over 350 delegates from across the country from various sectors, like, PSUs, Corporates, Corporate Foundations, NGOs, etc. The event included speeches by delegates, presentations of CSR projects by the award winners, panel discussion on the topic – 'Empowering States Through Sustainable Development,' felicitation of CSR TIMES Award winners etc.
The occasion was graced by dignitaries including Hon'ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, Shri. Sadanand Shet Tanavade, Hon'ble Member of Rajya Sabha, Shri. Subhash Phal Dessai, Hon'ble Minister for Social Welfare, Government of Goa, among other distinguished guests including business leaders, CSR professionals, and numerous award winners from across India.
The CSR TIMES Awards in Goa provided a platform to highlight the CSR work in Goa which could inspire other States to certainly follow Goa model of CSR Authority in various sectors of development, also, it would open up avenues to explore opportunities of expanding CSR activities in Goa.
